By train

Liège is accessible by train mainly from the Guillemins Railway Station (SNCB), from where a regular bus service takes you to the town centre (lines 1, 4, 30, 27, 48). You can take it on bus-stop A, in front of the station.

Note that, because of Covid-19 rules, bus tickets might not be available on board. These can be found at red TEC terminals in and outside the railway station.

By plane

The national airport Brussels Airport (Zaventem) is located close to Brussels, which is directly accessible from the airport by train. It then is possible to travel (with a change in Leuven) by rail from Brussels to Liège.

From Brussels South Charleroi Airport you can take buses, coaches and trains leaving from Charleroi (the station is 7 km away from the airport and there is a shuttle).

Liège Airport (very few destinations), also called Liège-Bierset, is located in the North-West of the city of Liège. From the airport, you can take a shuttle or a bus (53, 57) to reach the city centre of Liège.

TEC (Transports en Commun/Public Transports) has an important bus network.

Buses 48 and 58 serve the Sart Tilman from the city centre and from the Liège-Guillemins railway station. The ride to the Sart Tilman lasts about minutes for line 48, and 20 minutes for line 58.

In TEC sales points, you can obtain:

• a simple ticket : 2,6€ (on board), 2,1€ (with a MOBIB card)
• a MOBIB card : 5€
• a card of 8 journeys : 9,2€ (with the MOBIB card), 9,5€ (without MOBIB card)
• a membership card (via the MOBIB card) : 37,1€/month and 323€/year.

The SNCB (Société nationale des chemins de fer belges/National Society of the Belgian Rail) proposes diverse reductions to travel across Belgium and Europe. For more details, visit their website or enquire at the station.

• The YOUTH MULTI (GO PASS 10) allows people under 26 to use 10 simple trips in Belgium for 55€. It is valid for a year and can be used by more than one person. There is also the Youth Ticket (Go Pass 1) for a simple trip at 6,6€.
• The STANDARD MULTI (RAIL PASS) is under the same conditions as the Youth Multi (Go Pass 10), but without any restrictions on age, for the price of 86€.

Arrival in Belgium : Passenger Locator Form

All travellers to Belgium and planning to stay for more than 48 hours on the Belgian territory must fill in the Passenger Locator Form (PLF). If you arrive:

• by boat or plane, the PLF is compulsory even for a stay of less than 48 hours.
• by train or bus from a country outside the EU or the Schengen area, the PLF is compulsory even for a stay of less than 48 hours.

The PLF must be filled in individually (one per person) and honestly: it will be requested before your boarding and/or at your arrival in Belgium. Once the form is submitted you will receive a QR code by e-mail as well as a text message with customised measures depending on your PLF (test, quarantine, etc.).

If you come from a considered "high-risk" zone, you will have to be quarantined for 14 days at your arrival (at the place you indicate on the PLF).
