15 October, a day dedicated to the UNIC CityLabs

The Festival and the presence of delegations from 8 universities and cities in Liège, represent the unique chance to share and exchange on the results of the first CityLabs organised in 2021.

We invite you to meet us at the Cité Miroir on 15 October from 9:00 to 10:00 for this pooling and for the launch of a busy day dedicated to the “CityLabs”. We will discuss diverse subjects such as the citizen space as a a vector of inclusion in a post-industrial city in transition (Seraing), exiled students, migrant women, as well as urban resilience in the context of natural disasters.

CityLabs at the heart of the UNIC project

Thesethink-tanks allow civil society actors, academia, politic and business domains to gather in order to identify the issues that post-industrial cities face, to develop solutions to these challenges at the UNIC network’s level –through exchanges on experiences and good practice– as well as establishing solutions locally.

In other words, the objective is to generate an authentic European learning community, share expertise and develop new co-creation approaches in order to favour the transition of post-industrial cities.

Numerous CityLabs have been organised by the universities and cities of the UNIC network in 2021. They take various forms (workshops, experts debates, or seminars) and cover diverse subjects: ageing well in post-industrial cities, educational equity, the inclusion of migrants, fighting against racism and exclusion, urban resilience.
